Skin Care and Cleansing Routine

By: Branden Evans

Wash your face with water and a facial cleanser. It is not advised to use anything that you may use on the rest of your body; so your bar soaps and other body washes are out. Make sure you buy a facial cleanser instead. It is recommended to use a thicker 'cream' cleanser in the winter (because your skin is more prone to drying out) and a lighter 'gel-like' cleanser in the summer (you definitely want a lighter cleanser for the summer because it's more refreshing). Either way, try it at your own pacing.

Liquid cleansers are sometimes called cleansing milks, cleansing lotions or gels and have the consistency of thin to moderately thick body lotion. To apply, spread a small amount over dry or damp skin then wipe off with a damp face cloth or rinse off with lukewarm water.

Breakouts on the lower cheeks relate to the gums and back teeth. This is a sign that you have a hole in your tooth or possibly gum disease and you should definitely schedule some time to see your dentist.

Sebum production speeds up in the summer which contributes to grimy summer skin. You may want to sneak in an extra daily cleansing during warm weather.

A lot of women forget this very important item in their facial cleansing processes. Toner not only cleans off all the remaining residue from your facial cleanser but also cleans and polishes your skin and closes your pores after being opened by the hot water and cleanser. It also preps your skin for further moisturizing.

Do not spend money on expensive skin cleansers, because a cleanser is going to be on your skin for only a few seconds before being rinsed away. Save your beauty cash for moisturizers, sunscreens, intensive treatments and other products that will sit on your skin for a while.

Start taking care of your skin when you're young and make it a habit. You will benefit from it later in the future, I can assure you. Always moisturize; don't skimp simply because you're too tired or too lazy. Once it's a habit, it should be easy enough, but it is so important to make it a habit in the first place.

The good news is that protecting your skin from the sun and tanning gradually will cut the cost of sunbathing. You will develop fewer lines and greatly reduce the chances of suffering skin disease. The key to safer tanning is to know your skin type and to use adequate protection.

Diet is also of vital importance and no skin can be healthy without proper nutrition. Try to avoid too much of carbohydrates, sugar, fried and greasy foods, cakes and alcohol which can cause blemishes and blotchiness on the skin's surface.

Cleansing creams goes deeper into the pores and clean them thoroughly and is an integral part of treatment for multiple chemical sensitivity, pesticide and chemical exposure as well as therapy for chronic fatigue syndrome.

Getting plenty of sleep is an important element in managing stress levels and thus your skin. If you're not getting eight hours of sleep every night, stress levels become harder to manage and this can lead to more breakouts.
